Some of my comments ,if not all are primary intended for new CX3 owners. I advise all drivers to read the owners manual to understand the operation of their car. 9: However do not use high engine speeds until reaching the operating temperature. The blue light is a warning that you should wait before asking maximum performance from the engine. The light flashes when the engine coolant temperature is extremely high, and illuminates when the engine coolant temperature increases further. 51: (Red) High Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light With not enough coolant the engine will get overheated. If the low engine coolant temperature indicator light remains illuminated after the engine has been sufficiently warmed up, the temperature sensor could have a malfunction. The light illuminates continuously when the engine coolant temperature is low and turns off after the engine is warm. 43: Low Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator Light (Blue) That way, you can prevent engine damage and help your HR-V cruise through Centennial, Aurora, and Denver for years to come. This topic refuses to go away and still generates much interest.ġ)Does the blue light stay on permanently if there is a lack of coolant?Ģ)If there is a leak resulting in a substantial rise in temperature-what happens then to the light?ģ) Design suggestion-what about no blue light at all-only a red one which extinguishes once engine has started then comes on again ( or stays on) if there is or are abnormalities such as a leak, the need for more coolant or another mechanical fault? Service Your Honda HR-V Today! The dashboard symbols in your Honda HR-V will help you provide the care it needs when it needs it. To find out the specific air pressure each tire needs, consult your owner's manual. What you should do: Check the pressure for each tire and fill the one that's underinflated immediately. It alerts you whenever one of your tires isn't properly inflated to the correct air pressure. Honda HR-V Low Tire PressureThe dashboard symbol that's yellow and looks like the side of a tire with an exclamation point in the center is the low tire pressure warning light. After the technicians perform all necessary services, they'll deactivate the light. What you should do: If this light pops up during your commutes, contact a trusted Honda service center and schedule an appointment. To find out what type of services your Honda HR-V needs, check the Multi-Information Display. Maintenance Minder™When your vehicle needs routine services, you'll see what looks like a yellow wrench on the dashboard. If the light is blue, let your vehicle idle until the engine warms up and the symbol disappears. What you should do: If the light is red, drive slowly and pull over as soon as you can to prevent the engine from overheating. When it's blue, it means the coolant temperature in your Honda HR-V is low. When it's red, the engine coolant temperature is too high. Both look like a thermometer floating in fluid. HR-V High & Low TemperatureTwo common lights you can see in your HR-V are the high and low temperature indicators. To properly diagnose the issue, it's better to contact your local service center and have your vehicle inspected right away. We do not recommend driving your HR-V if the brake warning light is still on. If the brake fluid is low, you need to refill it immediately. It's easy to check the brake system on your own by lightly pressing the brake pedal. This red notice appears with the word BRAKE and means that either your brake fluid is low or that the brake system is problematic. If it's still active after you replenish the oil, schedule a repair. What you should do: As soon as you see this light, pull over and check the oil level. When it comes on, it means there's not enough oil flowing through the engine. Honda HR-V Low Oil PressureThis Honda HR-V dashboard symbol that looks like a red leaky oil can is the low oil pressure indicator. If the fluid level is normal, it means there's an issue with the system, and you need to have your car repaired immediately. If your HR-V is running low, get it to a service center. What you should do: The first thing you should do when this light comes on is check the brake fluid. It can also come on because there's not enough brake fluid in your vehicle. This will activate any time there's a problem with the brake system. HR-V Brake SystemThe brake system warning symbol is red and says BRAKE. Failure to do so can lead to severe engine damage and decreased overall performance. What you should do: If this light comes on or flashes, schedule a service appointment at a trusted Honda dealer like Mile High Honda. If it blinks, it means there's a misfire in the engine's cylinders. This is the Malfunction Indicator Lamp, and it's usually a steady light. If the emissions control system in your HR-V isn't working properly, you may see what looks like a yellow engine block on the dashboard.
